RECRUITING SUPPORT
OUR RECRUITING Philosophy
Our goal is to find the overall best fit for our athletes— a place where they can thrive athletically, academically, and socially. Every one of our athletes is running their own race, and our support is unique to their own goals.
We support our athletes and families from start to finish!
Our Recruiting Roadmap
-
Recruiting is not a one-size-fits-all journey. We evaluate three core pillars to establish a realistic and targeted list of target institutions:
Academic Profiling: Analyzing transcripts, standardized testing plans, and intended majors to target schools where the athlete will thrive outside of sport.
Athletic Evaluation: Honest, professional scouting by our elite coaching staff to determine projectable impact levels (NCAA Division I, Division II, Division III, or NAIA).
Cultural & Geographic Fit: Assessing campus size, location preferences, and team culture dynamics that match the player’s personality.
-
To alleviate anxiety and ensure maximum exposure, we break the recruiting lifecycle down into distinct, actionable phases tailored specifically to the girls' lacrosse calendar (notably the crucial September 1st milestone of Junior year).
Freshman Year (9th): Foundation and Education
Initial baseline athletic evaluation and skill-gap analysis.
Creation of the Master Target List (30ish schools).
Understanding the different divisions
Sophomore Year (10th): Branding & Exposure
Building highlight reels
Drafting tailored introductory emails to college coaches.
Strategic selection of individual summer/winter prospect camps.
Junior Year (11th): Communication & Execution
September 1st Contact Strategy for those on a D1 path: Preparation for the opening of direct communication.
Mock phone interviews and text communication clinics with former collegiate coaches.
Film review and updates from Fall and Summer showcase tournaments.
Commitments and next steps
-
In today’s digital-first recruiting environment, an athlete’s online profile acts as their digital resume. Our elite program provides full-scale creative and technical support:
Premium Player Profiles: Premium account with IWLCA Sports Recruits ensuring college coaches have seamless, 24/7 access to rosters, schedules, grades, and film.
Professional Highlight Film Assistance: Guidance on how to clip raw game footage, what specific clips to highlight by position (e.g., re-defending for attackers, off-ball movement for midfielders, defensive communication), and how to structure a compelling 3-minute reel.
Athletic Branding & Social Media Curation: Specialized training on leveraging platforms like Instagram and X (formerly Twitter) to share athletic updates, tournament schedules, and accolades cleanly and professionally.
-
We work hard to both use and expand our network and have meaningful conversations with coaches about our players.
Communication: We actively communicate with college coaches to provide transparent feedback, advocate for on-field performance, and verify a coach’s true interest level
Showcase Placement: Guidance and placement in the nation's most heavily scouted, elite-tier summer and fall showcase tournaments.
Sideline Visibility Optimization: Strategic tournament scheduling that ensures our teams play on primary fields during peak coach viewing windows.

Our team has decades of experience across all divisions and has cultivated endless relationships with coaches at each level.
